Manpower Inc. (NYSE: MAN) today announced the appointment of Robert W. Lincoln, Jr. to the newly created position of Senior Vice President, Global Human Resources. Lincoln will report directly to Jeffrey A. Joerres, Chairman & CEO of Manpower Inc., signifying the importance that Manpower places on human resources as a key component of effective business strategy.

Certified by the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Lincoln has 25 years of experience in HR Management. Before joining Manpower, Lincoln formed Robert Lincoln Consulting, L.L.C., a firm specializing in strategic human resources planning, change management and cultural integration. He was previously the Global Director of Human Resources, Mergers and Acquisitions for The Dow Chemical Company, located in Midland, Michigan.

His recent publications include the article "Dealing with HR Issues following the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks" featured in Employment Relations Today, Winter 2002, and the book, "100 Things To Do If You're Downsized," released in July 2002. He has developed and conducts a companion seminar, "Downsizing: Principles, Practices and Procedures," for The Human Resources Education & Training Center, School of Labor and Industrial Relations, at Michigan State University.
