ManpowerGroup Joins Rework America Task Force to Transform the US Labor Market and Promote Skills-Driven Hiring

ManpowerGroup Partners with America's Leading Workforce Experts on Scalable Solutions to Bridge the Skills Gap and Prepare People for The Future of Work

Sep 27, 2017

MILWAUKEE, Sept. 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- ManpowerGroup (NYSE: MAN) today joins a ground-breaking new coalition of workforce leaders focused on transforming and modernizing the American labor market to become rooted in the skills employers need. As part of the Markle Foundation's Rework America Task Force, ManpowerGroup will help develop solutions to bridge the skills gap, reignite wage growth and prepare workers for next generation jobs.

Rework America, chaired by Denis McDonough, former White House Chief of Staff to President Barack Obama, will help unlock economic opportunity for American job seekers, workers, and businesses. The coalition brings together influential leaders from across business, technology, labor, academic and policy communities, including Siemens USA, Microsoft, IBM, Princeton University, Hearsay Systems, the Walmart Foundation and Coursera.

"With technology rapidly transforming the U.S. economy across every sector, we believe helping people upskill and reskill for emerging roles will be the defining challenge of our time," said Jonas Prising, Chairman & CEO, ManpowerGroup and Co-Chair of the Task Force's Employer Working Group. "In this Skills Revolution, we need training that is faster and more agile, we need people with learnability — the desire and ability to keep learning — and we need policies that make it all possible. I'm pleased to Co-Chair the Employer Working Group in this innovative task force - together we will take immediate action to fast-track the upskilling and reskilling of people to ensure they are ready for the jobs of the future."

"The Rework America Task Force is ideally suited to help rethink and redesign the American labor market to benefit us all," Denis McDonough Chair of the Rework America Task Force, added. "This is a group of proven leaders who have come together to serve as an incubator for fresh ideas, inform state and national-level policy discussions, and develop real world solutions to build a smarter, modern labor market – over both the short-term and long-term."

ManpowerGroup's work with the coalition aligns with its MyPath™ offering - closing the skills gap by helping people develop sustainable careers for the long term and providing organizations access to a wider pool of right-skilled quality talent.
